Playstation 3 Kicks Off "Day 1 Digital" For Retail Games

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

Sony is definitely no stranger to selling full retail games on the Playstation Store. Their Playstation Plus service even offers bonuses on a lot of the games. The problem is that most of the games have been older releases. Yesterday, Sony fired off their "Day 1 Digital" program that looks to remedy this.

Through October, eight "high-profile" release titles will debut on the Playstation Store on the same day as retail. Some of the games are able to be pre-ordered, or discounts may be available to Playstation Plus members.

As of now, the line-up is as follows:

  1. Resident Evil 6
  2. NBA 2K13
  3. Dishonored
  4. Doom 3: BFG Edition
  5. 007 Legends (Available for pre-order)
  6. Medal of Honor: Warfighter
  7. Need for Speed: Most Wanted
  8. Assassin's Creed 3
According to Sony, we should see another round of games in November.
