Space Combat in Star Wars: The Old Republic Announced

A few days ago Bioware announced that space combat will indeed be in their mmo, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Surprised? No. Excited? Oh yeah!!
No official screenshots or videos have been released yet, but they did post this on the official forums.
"Space combat is an alternative gameplay experience to the primary game of storytelling, questing, and ground-based combat. In space combat, you fly your personal ship to various "hot spots" on your galaxy map. From there, you will blast your way through asteroid fields, enemy fighters, frigates, destroyers, and a variety of other obstacles that will evoke memories of some of the great Star Wars space battles."
I'm thinking the space combat will be one aspect of PvP which I'm not a big fan of, but the fact that all of that is going on in space while I'm questing and leveling on the the ground just makes the game even more awesome!!
